Heartburn may lead to Heart Attack
When I am having my lunch or dinner, I have this practice not to drink lots of water. My sister introduced this method to me when she read one of our health books here in the shelf — yes, there are still some people who read books today lol.
The book says that drinking one glass of water after a meal is not recommended because water makes your stomach’s acid not to perform its job. If your stomach has lots of water, the acid is going to have a hard time digesting the food you ate. Taking a sip of water after a meal is okay.
So when are you going to drink water? Good question. You may drink a couple of glasses of water after an hour or two. The book says that this is the best time the stomach already digested the food. But be sure you don’t forget to drink water because this will make your stomach be upset and the acid is going to be so active and that’s not good. It can lead to heartburn.
Heartburn is the burning sensation either in your chest and stomach. I’ve been having heartburn because I lack of water — because I am a forgetful person and always forget to drink– so do not upset your stomach by just leaving the acid there, because the acid can go up to your esophagus, which causes heartburn.
To avoid heartburn:
- Drink lots of water
- Chew your food well
- Avoid fatty foods
- Wear not so tight clothes
Heartburn has really got nothing to do with the heart but still be aware that simple painful sensation in the chest may be one of the early signs of heart diseases.
