AIDS is no longer popular?
Have you noticed? Why we don’t hear much about AIDS anymore? I mean, you know, media play a big role in addressing this type of seriousness to the public, but media are too busy talking about teen pregnancy. Hehehe..
But I know it is not like it just magically went away or anything, AIDS is still here. There is still no cure.
At one point in time, AIDS was an automatic death sentence. It was the scariest thing. However, a lot of research and money have been put into this cause that we have made enormous strides in making longer both the span and quality of life for those badly affected. Some famous celebrities and one of them is Magic Johnson, who has been dealing with it for over twenty years now and he has been out in the public eye and somewhat a helpful citizen.
Many people have made amazing steps in getting donated medicines to the African countries that have so many victims. Like my favorite band of all time, Hanson, who donated some money and shoes for those African kids who have mothers who got afflicted.
At the moment, AIDS has no cure but continuing to teach and inform everyone is one great way to prevent contraction of this dreaded disease.
