What?

I am kind of alarmed with this statement:
“If we eat healthy or not, we are all going to die at the end. People should eat as you please and enjoy every food you intake.”

WHAT?

I disagree.

Sure. We are all going to die — it is the truth of life but I am going to die after having done more things because people who don’t care about their health is like killing yourself already.

Candle Store

I found a candle store while I was looking for some on Google. I love candles because using them makes me relaxed. It is a therapy. I was actually glad that I received a couple of candles as a souvenir from my friend’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. This reminds me to go and lit them up.

The candles I found are soy based so they burn cleaner and are healthier for the environment. You know me, I am a nature freak. Anyway, there are 73 scents to choose from so go and check it out.

The prices range from 3 dollars to 21 dollars. I want to buy!

Are you a compulsive eater?

Have you become a compulsive and uncontrollable overeater and you don’t know how to change?

Find out what is causing you to eat too much. Are you stressed or worried? Are you nervous? There is unquestionably something going on. The quicker you find out what it is and deal with it, the better off you will be.

Only you can decide to bring this to an end because nobody else can make a decision for you. The basic things to do are exercising or reducing the amount of food you consume everyday and figuring out the reason why you started eating more, then see a doctor and check out your hormones and stuff.

Make an effort to find a hobby or a fun sport. You could have time on your hands or going through stress. Some people I know over eat when they are really happy while others when they have major problems. Just love yourself, that’s the best thing to do, and don’t let it take over your routine of prior eating habits.

Do not miss your dentist appointment

Yesterday, I was watching the rerun of my favorite TV show called, Charmed, and the episode was about Prue, one of the lead characters, who missed her dental appointment for a couple of times. Okay. I won’t be talking about witches and demons and stuff but when was the last time you visited your dentist for a dental checkup?

Do not ask me. I just went to our family dentist last month for my monthly adjustment of the brackets. But seriously, ignoring your teeth is a bad idea. This might sound weird to you but I think most of people don’t care at all about their teeth. Poor oral hygiene and no precautionary care may result in poor health all over the body as severe gum disease spreads to the blood.

Please parents, as early as possible, make your children visit their dentist regularly like teeth cleaning. It’s a great impact on them. I know a lot of adults today don’t care about their teeth because they just don’t know the word dentist when they were growing up. It just sucks that many people go to dentist because they need a tooth extraction.

That’s awful.

Heartburn may lead to Heart Attack

When I am having my lunch or dinner, I have this practice not to drink lots of water. My sister introduced this method to me when she read one of our health books here in the shelf — yes, there are still some people who read books today lol.

The book says that drinking one glass of water after a meal is not recommended because water makes your stomach’s acid not to perform its job. If your stomach has lots of water, the acid is going to have a hard time digesting the food you ate. Taking a sip of water after a meal is okay.

So when are you going to drink water? Good question. You may drink a couple of glasses of water after an hour or two. The book says that this is the best time the stomach already digested the food. But be sure you don’t forget to drink water because this will make your stomach be upset and the acid is going to be so active and that’s not good. It can lead to heartburn.

Heartburn is the burning sensation either in your chest and stomach. I’ve been having heartburn because I lack of water — because I am a forgetful person and always forget to drink– so do not upset your stomach by just leaving the acid there, because the acid can go up to your esophagus, which causes heartburn.

To avoid heartburn:

  • Drink lots of water
  • Chew your food well
  • Avoid fatty foods
  • Wear not so tight clothes

Heartburn has really got nothing to do with the heart but still be aware that simple painful sensation in the chest may be one of the early signs of heart diseases.

Heat Wave

Egggh. It is so hot where I live now. It’s summer! We reached 34 degree celcius already and the humidity is unbearable, and according to the weather forecast, it’s going to be hotter until May. Oh Jesus Christ!

This morning, I bought Halu-halo (it’s a Filipino beverage) because it was so hot and all.

Because of this weather condition in the Philippines, I should protect myself from heat stroke. Here are the things I’m going to do starting tomorrow:

  • Drinks lots of water (6 to 8 glasses a day)
  • Wear comfortable clothes
  • Put sunscreen lotion
  • Do not go out between 10am and 3pm

Can’t wait for the rain!

The former president is sick

Corazon “Cory” Aquino, the first woman president of the Philippines, has colon cancer. It was a shocking news because colon cancer is the third deadliest form of cancer in the country, and I believe, in some countries too. According to the news, Cory’s mother had a history of colon cancer and died. Her daughter Kris Aquino, a well-talented host and TV personality, should be more cautious because it runs in the mother side.

I am a freak like that and I have searched on Google right after I heard this. Colon cancer also called colorectal or large bowel cancer, includes a mushroom like growths, which may start in the colon, rectum, and appendix. In order to diagnose it, specialized doctors investigate it through colonoscopy

Symptoms may vary and could not detect earlier but the most common are constipation, unexplained loss of weight, and bloody stools. This is why I’m trying to quit eating red meat. As much as possible, I would only eat fish and vegetables, and a little of chicken. My motto in life is health and clean living.

Anyway, I really wish Madam Cory will get soon and will be able to fight this cancer.
